TLDR

Tank Warwick Runes

Optional Summoner Spells
Ghost
Ghost for extra and mobility and chasing and disruptive running around in fights. Good alternative if you want to stay close to enemies.
Exhaust
Defensive option. Exhaust for peeling against enemy divers and assassins and protecting your carries.
Ignite
Offensive option if you are feeling spicy. Grievous Wounds + some damage. Good in early fights and you can score some kills, but reduces your going-in potential. Especially later.
Optional Runes
Grasp of the Undying
Grasp of the Undying is a solid alternative. You become more tanky over time as your HP grows, you get some sustain and you get some damage as well.
Presence of Mind
Triumph is better overall (heal + gold), but if you want to have easier time with your mana, go Presence of Mind.
Demolish
If you are into taking objectives, you can consider taking Demolish rune. Usually it is worth it and lets you push turrets quicker. Utility slash team oriented option.
How it works
- You play as a Tank.
- Your job is to soak damage, disrupt fights, protect your team, and be a pain in the neck for the enemy.
Playstyle
Be the frontline. Soak damage, disrupt enemies, protect your carries.
Jak'Sho rewards you for staying in fights.
Adapt your items to counter the enemy team.
How to play
Getting started
- Start with Guardian's Horn. Rush #1 Armor item if enemy is heavy on AD, or MR item if heavy on AP. Get Jak'Sho as #2.
- Guardian's Horn is a surprisingly good item for its price. You can keep it for very long time (or even have it as 6th item).
During fights
- Your goal is to be in the middle of fights as long as possible - Jak'Sho stacks up with combat seconds.
Adapting
- You need to adapt your items to the game. Enemy team heavy on AP? Buy MR. They heavy on AD? Buy Armor. You need some damage? Well buy that.
- You can use Bandlepipes to give your whole team an attack speed boost whenever you CC enemies. Great synergy with auto attackers.
Runes
- Triumph is better overall (heal + gold), but if you want to have easier time with your mana, go Presence of Mind.
- Be careful to not waste Aftershock. Save it for when you go in or when enemies jump on you.
Tips and Tricks
Champion
Sustain
- You heal from your Eternal Hunger (Passive) (while below 50% of maximum health) as well as with Jaws of the Beast (Q). Use it for sustain and while low.
- If you are not planning on going in or peeling, you can use Primal Howl (E) damage reduction to reduce poke damage.
Jaws of the Beast (Q)
- You can hold Jaws of the Beast (Q) to stick to your target. During that, you get displacement immunity and you can follow them through dashes, blinks, Flashes and portals!
- You can use Jaws of the Beast (Q) to close the gap between you and your target. Just Q minion, hold it and you will leap behind.
- You can use Jaws of the Beast (Q) to escape - use it on minion or target further down to escape.
- You appear behind your target if you hold Jaws of the Beast (Q) fully. Hold only halfway to stay next to them instead.
- Spam Jaws of the Beast (Q) even if you are about to die - it has a slight delay and can sometimes still trigger mid-death animation for a 1-for-1 trade.
Blood Hunt (W)
- Press Blood Hunt (W) before a fight to gain bonus attack speed against the first enemy in range, regardless of their HP.
- You can use Blood Hunt (W) to detect enemies hiding in the bush or even invisible ones that try to sneak on you, your team or your Nexus!
- Your team can't see your blood trail, so ping enemies to inform your team.
Primal Howl (E)
- Press Primal Howl (E) in the middle of a fight and let it run out automatically unless you want to fear a key target.
- Use Primal Howl (E) right before enemy crowd control hits to reduce incoming damage - it will still fear enemies even if you are CC’d.
- Release Primal Howl (E) early to fear enemies into your team or to cancel someone’s escape.
Infinite Duress (R)
- You can keep and use Infinite Duress (R) for escape.
- R gives you crowd control immunity during leap.
- R leap distance scales with your movement speed.
- After landing Infinite Duress (R), all enemies around your target are automatically feared if Primal Howl (E) is active.
- Hover over the ulted target and hold Jaws of the Beast (Q) - when Infinite Duress (R) ends, you’ll follow any flash or dash the enemy makes.
Warwick combos
- Primal Howl (E) + Infinite Duress (R) Combo - land R while E is active to fear surrounding enemies and reduce incoming damage.
- Main combo: Blood Hunt (W) + Primal Howl (E) + optionally Flash + hold Jaws of the Beast (Q) + Primal Howl (E) + Infinite Duress (R) - locks target in CC for 2.5s and guarantees your R hit.
Riot
- Follow your Blood Hunt trails to low health enemy champions.
- Infinite Duress (R)'s distance scales with any Move Speed you gain, even from ally buffs and summoner spells.
- Jaws of the Beast (Q) will follow enemies who run, dash or teleport if you keep the button held down.
Skill Order
- Jaws of the Beast
Q
- Blood Hunt
W
- Primal Howl
E
- Infinite Duress
